How to make a balsamic reduction

Easy Menu IdeaIf you ever dine out, then I’m sure you’ve had a dish somewhere along the way that is served with a balsamic reduction. It sounds fancy. It tastes wonderful. It is very versatile. I love it.


It seems like a bit of an indulgence but it is super easy to make.

Pour 1 cup of balsamic vinegar and 1 tablespoon of sugar into a sauce pan. Bring to a boil and immediately reduce heat to low. Let the vinegar reduce for about 20 minutes and remove from heat. Let cool and the vinegar will be a lot like a nice thick syrup. You can drip, drizzle, smear, or glaze the reduction on whatever you think it will taste good.

If you want to make beautiful drips and drizzles, then you’ll need one of these squeeze bottles. Also a very versatile utensil and super cheap!
