How to make a balsamic reduction

Easy Menu IdeaIf you ever dine out, then I’m sure you’ve had a dish somewhere along the way that is served with a balsamic reduction. It sounds fancy. It tastes wonderful. It is very versatile. I love it.

It seems like a bit of an indulgence but it is super easy to make.

Pour 1 cup of balsamic vinegar and 1 tablespoon of sugar into a sauce pan. Bring to a boil and immediately reduce heat to low. Let the vinegar reduce for about 20 minutes and remove from heat. Let cool and the vinegar will be a lot like a nice thick syrup. You can drip, drizzle, smear, or glaze the reduction on whatever you think it will taste good.

Bad picture as I was trying to show thickness and the camera didn’t like my motion.

If you want to make beautiful drips and drizzles, then you’ll need one of these squeeze bottles. Also a very versatile utensil and super cheap!
