Getting rid of fruit flies
My husband is pretty much a genius. Don’t tell him I said that. He just seems to know everything. Anyway, we had some fruit flies that hitched a ride home in either the bag of lemons or container of tomatoes I brought home from the store. The best way to get rid of them is to put out a small bowl of apple cider vinegar with a couple of drops of dishwashing soap in it.
The other night, I was having a glass of red wine with dinner and the fruit flies kept attacking the glass. I was about 3 sips away from finishing my glass when my husband told me to just put the dishwashing soap in my wine. Of course, I was shocked by the mere suggestion of ruining my wine. However, when I noticed 3 flies on the rim of the glass, I succumbed to the suggestion. I put 2 drops in and returned the soap to the counter. When I got back to the table, the glass had captured 5 flies. Amazing!

Know your husband to be quite right a lot, so will trust & try the fruit fly idea! Thanks for tip, of which I’ve needed in the past, but had no plan!
Ok,so the solution is drink a glass of wine, leave a little bit in it,put a few drops of dishwashing detergent in the almost empty glass. Then you pour another glass of wine for yourself, watch the demise of the fruitflies. I can do this.
Absolutely! It works for sure…but if you have apple cider vinegar, try that first so you don’t waste the wine!!
Was JUST about to google search fruit flies when i cam across your post. i currently have 2 bowls set about my kitchen. i’m stoked to not have to keep my peaches under a glass bowl “dome” from now on!!
It works! I’m telling you!
