Green Bean Bundles (Bacon Wrapped Green Beans)

Here is another recipe that my awesome sister shared with me a while ago. These green bean bundles wrapped in bacon are easy to make, great for a crowd, kid friendly and fabulous. What more can you ask for in a dish? Oh..and they also look like they are a lot of hard work and will certainly impress your guests! People love to believe you put a lot of effort into your food as it is a sign of love.
We created this fun video to help teach you how to make these little bundles of joy.
Level of Difficulty:Easy
Time Required: Prep Time – 20min; Cook Time – 30 minutes
Ingredients:
1 pound of green beans, trimmed, washed and broken in half
1 pound of bacon (not thick cut or maple…just regular bacon)
1/4 cup light brown sugar
spread butter
cooking spray
Special Equipment and Other Items Needed:
Foil
Baking sheet with wire rack is perfect for this dish
Preparing Green Bean Bundles:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with foil and spray with nonstick cooking spray. Cut the bacon in half. Lay the strips of bacon flat on the baking sheet, about 1/2 inch apart. Sprinkle brown sugar on the bacon, pushing lightly to make sure it sticks to the bacon.
Put about 5 green beans at the edge of the bacon and roll. Place seam side down. Take about a 1/2 teaspoon of butter and put on each side of the bundle. Repeat with remaining bacon and beans.
Cook for 30 minutes, or until bacon is crispy. Serve immediately. If you would like your green beans to be slightly crisper, you can partially cook your bacon before adding the green beans 5-7 minutes, let cool a bit and then wrap the green beans inside.
Important Tips:
If you leave the bacon out for about 20 minutes before using it, you will be able to stretch it more easily around the beans and it will cook more evenly.

ummmm….yum!
