How to make a balsamic reduction

If you ever dine out, then I’m sure you’ve had a dish somewhere along the way that is served with a balsamic reduction lightly drizzled on top. It sounds fancy. It tastes wonderful. It is very versatile. I love it. It seems like a bit of an indulgence but it is super easy to make.
How to make a balsamic reduction:
Pour 1 cup of balsamic vinegar and 1 tablespoon of sugar into a sauce pan. Bring to a slight boil and immediately reduce heat to low. Let the vinegar reduce for about 20 minutes and remove from heat. Let cool and the vinegar will be a lot like a nice thick syrup. You can drip, drizzle, smear, or glaze the reduction on whatever you think it will taste good.

If you want to make beautiful drips and drizzles, then you’ll need one of these Squeeze Bottles. Also a very versatile utensil and super cheap!
Don’t want to make your own – you can buy balsamic reductions in the store and on-line as well. They last in the fridge for a long time and easy to pull out whenever you want a sweet and tangy addition to your food.
