Denise’s Thanksgiving Menu
Thanksgiving is a little more than a week away and we are sure you are wondering what McNack’s is doing and serving for the big day. Melissa and Denise have very different Thanksgiving days, although the concept is the same…great food shared with people we love. I am having 15 people coming for appetizers and 20 for dinner and dessert. As always, it is a combination of friends and family. Actually, I take that back. My friends are part of my family, so I guess that means there will be lots of unrelated family members having dinner together! Here is what’s on Denise’s Thanksgiving Menu:
Appetizers:
Sausage Balls
Cheese and Crackers
Main Course:
Turkey
Ham
Cranberry Sauce
Garlic Mashed Potatoes
Broccoli Cauliflower Casserole
Green Beans
Desserts:
Apple Cake
Pecan Pie
Pumpkin Pie
Beverages:
Beer (we watch football throughout the day, so of course there will be beer)
Wine (goes without saying)
Rum and Coke (must have beverage when a special guest is in town)
Vodka Tonic/Cranberry (very holiday-ee)
Mulled spiced wine – (This has been a holiday favorite for years. Pat (aka Nana) is a dear friend’s mom who I have known since I was my kids’ age. The first year she came for Thanksgiving she brought over this mulled spiced wine. It smelled delicious on the stove, but I wasn’t so sure about warm wine. Oh my…one taste and I was SOLD!! I look forward to it every year…and I don’t even have to ask anymore!!)
Water & Soda (because we have kids and are responsible)
We are so happy to be joining the Raymonds again for T-day (probably the 15th time!?). It is like one big family. I can post the recipes for my mom’s mulled, spiced wine and Grandma’s famous garlic mashed potatoes – they are awesome (and have a secret ingredient!) just let me know! I mentioned how we make cranberry relish in our family on Melissa’s post about Cranberry sauce.
Can’t wait! i’m hungry already and am jonesing for pumpkin roll right now!
That would be awesome! I wasn’t sure how super secret the recipes were. With the chill in the air, I’m not sure I can wait for the mulled, spiced wine!!! It’s going to awesome as usual!
Ok, I NEED to know more about this mulled spiced wine.
My friend’s mom makes it for us. She said she would give me the recipe to post!!! Be on the lookout!
