It was a typical Sunday and I had been busy working on my menu for the week and grocery list. My menu took into account very busy evenings at the front end. I hit the necessary stores and went about my day. Around 4:30 I pulled out the new pork chop recipe that I was going to make. Much to my surprise, it needed to marinate for 6 to 8 hours. How in the world did I miss that? Well…I did. Cooking 101 will tell you to always read the ENTIRE recipe before starting to cook. I told my husband I could make the tacos that I was planning to make on Tuesday instead. He suggested that I take the time to prep for the week instead of cooking. Great idea! I was going to steam some broccoli and make some freezer to oven prepared chicken that I had. Yet another suggestion came from my son, “Let’s just order pizza!” Well…that’s what we did.
It was awesome! I made the marinade for the pork, browned the ground beef for Taco Tuesday and made homemade spaghetti sauce.
So, the next time you feel like you make a silly rookie mistake in the kitchen, just remember, it happens to the best of us! Tomorrow is another day!!
