Getting rid of fruit flies

Did you know iconMy husband is pretty much a genius. Don’t tell him I said that. He just seems to know everything. Anyway, we had some fruit flies that hitched a ride home in either the bag of lemons or container of tomatoes I brought home from the store. The best way to get rid of them is to put out a small bowl of apple cider vinegar with a couple of drops of dishwashing soap in it.

The other night, I was having a glass of red wine with dinner and the fruit flies kept attacking the glass. I was about 3 sips away from finishing my glass when my husband told me to just put the dishwashing soap in my wine. Of course, I was shocked by the mere suggestion of ruining my wine. However, when I noticed 3 flies on the rim of the glass, I succumbed to the suggestion. I put 2 drops in and returned the soap to the counter. When I got back to the table, the glass had captured 5 flies. Amazing!

Know your husband to be quite right a lot, so will trust & try the fruit fly idea! Thanks for tip, of which I’ve needed in the past, but had no plan!

Ok,so the solution is drink a glass of wine, leave a little bit in it,put a few drops of dishwashing detergent in the almost empty glass. Then you pour another glass of wine for yourself, watch the demise of the fruitflies. I can do this.
